Dear Supporters and Followers of Brain Healing for Sports Related Concussions...
After 8 years of dedicating time, energy and love to the OneHitAway Foundation (OHA), we have decided to close the foundation as a 501C3 nonprofit in September 2022. When Brett, our son suffered his final concussion as a football player, we felt called to work in the brain healing space to connect others with the resources that helped him heal. At that time we couldn’t have imagined that we would have established a nonprofit organization with the mission of providing resources for healing sports related brain injuries and ultimately serving over 400 recipients. This work has been one of the greatest privileges of our lives.
Over the past eight years we developed our network to help build awareness of the possibilities in brain healing and brain health. We witnessed medical specialists institute a new realm of brain healing. OHA introduced recipients to treatment options they didn’t know existed. We have seen our network of generous/ loyal donors provide financial and volunteer support.
It has been an amazing climb to the top of the mountain, and from this vantage point we can appreciate how far OHA has come and how many people we’ve brought along with us. Fortunately we have been empowered by our incredible Board of Trustees, Medical Advisory & Sports Advisory Council Members along the way.
OneHitAway would not have been possible without the support of our donors, supporters and volunteers, and for that we are eternally grateful. Over the organization’s lifetime, we have raised over $700,000 in donations to support brain healing and brain health. Through our key partnerships, OHA has offered referrals and discounts to make treatments more accessible to OHA recipients.
Because of the strength of our community, we are now at a point where we can transition our work from the nonprofit organization to OHA’s network of loyal supporters. We are no longer seeking donations, as we will be spending down the Foundation’s resources by September in alignment with OHA’s mission. Instead of donations, we invite you to share OneHitAway’s website (www.onehitaway.org) with people in your network, offer healing opportunities to those who are suffering, and champion the modalities for brain healing. Brain healing is possible.
Through you, the OneHitAway Foundation’s mission will carry on!
With Sincere Gratitude
Jill, Darren & Brett CdeBaca
